| Applications for admission are considered throughout the year. Most students, however, begin their studies in the Fall Term and nearly all teaching assistantship commitments are made at this time. In some cases, early entrance is given in the Summer Term to allow students to make up deficiencies and to gain experience at graduate level studies. Please apply directly online via our on-line application. Please note that certain materials must be sent by regular mail. In addition to the application, please remember to submit all the required supporting documents to the Department in a timely fashion. - $50.00 Check or Payment Voucher if you choose to pay your application fee by credit card. When you have completed your online application, you will be asked to pay the application fee, after which your application is transmitted through a secure server. Only after you complete and submit your application will it be available for review by the Department of Statistics.
- Official, certified transcripts of all previous undergraduate and graduate work. Official, original academic credentials that are issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
- Career Statement/Statement of Purpose. You may submit your Statement of Purpose in the "Additional Information" section of the online Application for Admission, which allows you to upload your document. Alternatively, you can mail it to the Department of Statistics.
- Three (3) Forms/Letters of Recommendation. You should submit the names of three referees with your Online Application for Admission. The recommendation form we ask to be included with each letter of recommendation is available for download as a .pdf file once you begin your online application process. Referees may submit their recommendations either electronically or by mail to the Department of Statistics, according to your preference.
- GRE Scores (optional)
- TOEFL scores (minimum of 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based) or IELTS scores (minimum of 6.5) - mandatory for international students. Submission of the TOEFL is a University requirement for all applicants whose native language is not English (even if English has been the medium of instruction in your courses). TOEFL scores submitted must not be more than two years old (applicants who have recently received a degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States are exempt from submission of the TOEFL). An official copy of the test score must be sent directly from ETS or IELTS to our department. The institution code is 2927 and the department code is 59. Personal copies of test scores are not acceptable.
