Assistant Professor - Tenure Stream (23007030)

The Department of Statistics at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for one tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in September 2024, pending budgetary approval. We encourage candidates from all areas of research to apply. Minimal requirements include having a Ph.D. in statistics or a closely related field by September 1, 2024, a strong research agenda, evidence of ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate students, and the promise of attracting external funding.

Teaching Assistant Professor (23007031)

The Department of Statistics at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for one Teaching Assistant Professor position to begin in September 2024, pending budgetary approval. The position is outside the tenure stream, with the expectation of rolling multi-year contract renewals for the successful teaching faculty. Minimum qualifications are that candidates should have earned their Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related discipline by September 1, 2024, have demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate courses, be capable of teaching applied master’s courses, and have an interest in innovative instruction. The normal teaching load is three courses each semester. Reductions in teaching may be possible depending on approved non-instructional activities supported by the teaching faculty.
